Follow Instructions DMZ Mission: A 2026 Guide to Al Bagra Dead Drops

I still get a nostalgic kick out of running old DMZ faction missions in 2026. Call of Duty has moved on to newer Warzone chapters, but for those of us who loved the extraction chaos of Al Mazrah and Ashika Island, the Legion story missions remain a fun checklist. One of my favorites is Follow Instructions, the Tier 4 Legion Story Mission. It is not hard, but it is fussy: you bounce between two maps, read a note, and dead drop two specific items. If you are playing a preserved version of DMZ or revisiting the mode with friends, here is how I get it done.

What Unlocks Follow Instructions?

To unlock this story mission, you need to complete 5 of the available Tier 4 Legion faction missions. Once that is done, Follow Instructions appears as the Tier 4 Story Mission. It has three main objectives:

1. Take and read the note from the Dead Drop at Al Bagra Fortress.

2. Follow the first instruction on the note.

3. Follow the second instruction on the note.

Completing it rewards you with the Legion weapon charm, 30,000 XP, and the final set of Legion missions for DMZ Seasons 2 and 3. In 2026, those rewards might not matter as much as they once did, but the charm and XP are still nice if the mode is available to you.

Step 1: Grab and Read the Note at Al Bagra Fortress

Head to Al Mazrah and go to Al Bagra Fortress. The Dead Drop you need is next to the largest building in the group on the east side of Al Bagra Fortress. If you already did the Train Tracks mission, you have been here before: it is the same dumpster where you grabbed tracking devices.

Open the dumpster, take the note, and read it. Taking it completes the first objective, but reading it is important because it tells you the next two tasks. The note asks you to locate the Konni Laptop and dead drop it at Al Bagra Fortress, along with a DRC Building 21 Access Card.

I usually read it immediately, because if I exfil without reading it, I waste a deployment. Do not be like me.

Step 2: Find the Konni Laptop on Ashika Island

This is the part that makes Follow Instructions a two-map mission. The note is on Al Mazrah, but the Konni Laptop is on Ashika Island. You need to deploy to Ashika and find it in Room 402, opposite Lost Room 403 of the Ashika Island Hotel. The hotel is the building next to the City Hall Hideout.

If you did Intel Exchange, you might recognize this laptop. Grab it, put it in your backpack, and exfil successfully. You must extract with it, because if you die, the laptop is gone and you will need to run Ashika again.

Once you have the Konni Laptop secured, go back to Al Mazrah. Return to the same Al Bagra Fortress Dead Drop and place the laptop inside. That completes the first instruction on the note.

Step 3: Dead Drop a Building 21 Access Card

The final objective is to follow the second instruction: deliver a Building 21 Access Card into the same Dead Drop where you found the note. Building 21 Access Cards are used to enter Building 21, so they are valuable. You can get one by:

• Finding it in Supply Drops

• Finding it with Legendary Supply Caches

• Buying it from a Buy Station

Once you have an access card, bring it to the Al Bagra Fortress Dead Drop and deposit it. That wraps up the Tier 4 Legion Story Mission.

My Quick Tips for 2026 Players

• Do the note and laptop steps in separate deployments. You cannot grab the Konni Laptop on Al Mazrah.

• Bring a secure backpack if you have one. Losing the laptop to a squad wipe is painful.

• Check Buy Stations early. If you already have a Building 21 Access Card, the final step is easy.

• Use the same Dead Drop. Both the Konni Laptop and the Building 21 Access Card go into the Al Bagra Fortress dumpster.

• Read the note. It sounds obvious, but it is a required step.

Objective	Map	Location	Item
Take and read note	Al Mazrah	Al Bagra Fortress east-side Dead Drop	Strange note
First instruction	Ashika Island then Al Mazrah	Ashika Island Hotel Room 402 then Al Bagra Dead Drop	Konni Laptop
Second instruction	Al Mazrah	Al Bagra Fortress east-side Dead Drop	Building 21 Access Card

If you are playing DMZ in 2026, this mission is a nice reminder of the mode's peak. It sends you across two maps, asks you to extract a specific item, and makes you use the Dead Drop system. That is classic DMZ. Follow the note, watch your six, and you will have the Legion Story Mission done before the gas closes in.
