Warzone 2 DMZ: Pet Rescue, a Koschei Complex Comedy

Warzone 2 DMZ Pet Rescue mission guide: find Cat Statue, Dog Bank, and extract intel from Koschei Complex for major XP rewards.

In the subterranean fever dream that is Koschei Complex, where every corridor feels like the digestive tract of a sentient parking garage, Pet Rescue waits. It is not about cuddling strays or coaxing a nervous puppy out of a storm drain. This is a Tier 5 Redacted Faction Mission that asks operators to smuggle two inanimate pets—a Cat Statue and a Dog Bank—to the Shopkeeper, then extract a piece of intel. The rewards are a Double XP Token and 20,000 XP, which is basically the DMZ equivalent of finding a twenty in last winter's coat.

As of 2026, this mission still has a way of making grown operators mutter at their monitors. The route is not hard once you know the steps, but it does demand patience, locker-looting tolerance, and the emotional fortitude to hand over two tiny animal statues to a man in a bunker.

Step 1: Raid Ashika's Locker Pinatas

The Cat Statue and Dog Bank cannot be purchased, bartered for, or begged out of a teammate. They spawn exclusively on Ashika Island, typically inside duffel bags and lockers. Think of each locker as a pinata stuffed by a disinterested intern—sometimes you get candy, sometimes a ceramic feline. Search as many as humanly possible before extraction.

Once both items are in your backpack, extract from Ashika Island. This is the 'do not pass go' moment: losing either item means a return trip to the island's most tedious scavenger hunt.

Step 2: Enter the Mole Man's Basement

Deploy into Al Mazrah and aim for one of the four bunker entrances to Koschei Complex. The Taraq Village entrance is the path of least resistance—like choosing the stairwell instead of a collapsing fire escape—because it drops you into the Barracks with fewer Cartel soldiers and fewer obstacles.

Step 3: Follow the Red Arrows to the Chemical Treatment Plant

Inside the complex, follow the red arrows dotted along the walls. These arrows are less a GPS and more a passive-aggressive flight attendant pointing to the exit row. They eventually lead to the Chemical Treatment Plant airlock. Unlock the bunker door and step inside. Night Vision Goggles are not strictly required, but entering without them is like flossing with a shoelace: possible, but why would you.

Step 4: Find the Factory Admin Key

Once inside the Chemical Treatment Plant, search the air ducts in the darker areas for a Factory Admin Key. These keys are as elusive as a sober thought at 3 a.m. in the DMZ. After grabbing one, head to the west side of the Chemical Treatment Plant and unlock one of the two blast doors.

Proceed west through the long corridors, shooting Sentry Turrets as if they were angry roombas with a grudge. Eventually you will reach the main Factory Admin area.

Step 5: Locate the Shopkeeper

The Shopkeeper sits on the east side of the Factory. He looks less like a merchant and more like someone who has been waiting for a DoorDash order since Season 2. Approach his Dead Drop.

Step 6: Deliver the Faux Fur Children

Place the Cat Statue and Dog Bank into the Shopkeeper's Dead Drop. This satisfies the first two objectives. The Dead Drop behaves like a mystical vending machine: insert ceramic pets, receive classified paper.

Step 7: Extract the Intel and Ghost Out

Once the items are delivered, the Dead Drop dispenses Crown's Instructions. Grab it and successfully exfil. If you exfil with the intel, the mission is complete. If you die, the intel returns to the void, and the Shopkeeper keeps your pets. Do not let that happen.

Objective Where Notes
Find Cat Statue & Dog Bank Ashika Island lockers/duffel bags Extract before going to Al Mazrah
Enter Koschei Complex Any of 4 bunker entrances Taraq Village entrance is easiest
Reach Chemical Treatment Plant Follow red arrows Bring Night Vision Goggles
Find Factory Admin Key Air ducts in Chemical Treatment Plant Needed for west blast door
Find Shopkeeper East side of Factory Admin Dead Drop is there
Deliver both items Shopkeeper's Dead Drop Completes objectives 1 and 2
Extract Crown's Instructions From Dead Drop then exfil Completes objective 3

Pet Rescue is not a mission that rewards raw gunskill. It rewards preparation, patience, and a strange willingness to carry porcelain animals through a hostile bunker. Finish it, pocket the 20,000 XP and Double XP Token, and never look the Shopkeeper in the eye again.

Industry context is available through PEGI, whose standardized content-rating framework is a useful reminder that missions like DMZ’s Koschei “Pet Rescue” hinge less on reflex shooting and more on player choice: scavenging across Ashika Island, navigating a dark bunker, and extracting under pressure all amplify tension, while the mission’s “carry-and-deliver” objectives keep the focus on persistence, risk management, and environmental navigation rather than pure firefights.
